About Lakewood Toolbox
The Lakewood Toolbox is a tool lending library that offers Lakewood residents and landlords an affordable option for borrowing tools to complete home repairs and DIY projects.
Do you need to be a member to borrow tools?
Yes, you need to be a Lakewood Toolbox member to borrow tools, but signing up is easy and can be done through our website. To become a member you must be a Lakewood resident or a landlord who owns residential property in Lakewood.
How much does it cost to become a member?
The annual fee is $30 for residents and $75 for landlords.
Please note, a refundable deposit is required for tool rentals. All items must be returned clean and in good working condition.
How do I borrow tools now that I am a member?
The Lakewood Toolbox is by appointment only, so please reach out to our Housing Outreach & Toolbox Coordinator Matt Clark at (216) 521-0655 x5 or mclark@lakewoodalive.org to set up an appointment and to see what tools are currently available.
Where is it located?
The Lakewood Toolbox is located behind the Screw Factory Building at 13000 Athens Ave. Housed in a silver shipping container with a sign that says “Toolbox”, it is nestled behind the SouthEast portion of the building near the intersection of Halsted and Athens Avenues.
